When you get this newsletter every month it's important for you to remember that every one of us is united in a movement. And that people are moving with an intention towards greater awareness all over the world. Out in Ohio, Holly Abram is one of the movers and shakers behind "Dance Your Soul" a new ecstatic dance promoted in our pages and another point of light on the distribution map. She sent us this high-5 the other day, "Hope to meet you one day soon dancing around in California! We are doing our first live band at Dance Your Soul this mother's day. Hopefully everyone will love the music like we do and dance like crazy!" It's folks like the Dance Your Soul crew who breath life and motion into the notion of conscious dance, wherever it may be found. So please let us know what you are up to and take this invitation to participate. Notes about your local community dances are always
appreciated, and better yet, make your way to the Omega Institute next month (see below) for some quality time with some of the leading lights in the field. Until next time, wishing you the very best! ~Mark Metz
All the best from the Conscious Dancer Team!
Staff Favorite: KeVita™
We're big fans of all things fermented and probiotic. Meet the new drink on the block "KeVita™ ". While technically made from a SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast), as is kombucha, KeVita's SCOBY is created from a different methodology and is richer in probiotics than kombucha. Another innovation is the use of coconut water as a base. With six flavors including Strawberry Acai, Mango Coconut, and Lemon Ginger, they also have a LivingGreens flavor using phytoalgae in the blend. Freshen up in time for summer with this yummy probiotic superdrink.

A One-Day Symposium: The Poetic Body:
Integrating Somatic Psychology and the Expressive Arts
Where: Meridian University, Marin Campus
When: Saturday, May 21st, 10:00-5:00pm
Somatic Psychology and Expressive Arts are blessed with rich histories and vibrant professional communities. Both approaches rely on accessing untapped sources of implicit knowledge to deepen our understanding of what it means to be human, and to strengthen our capacity for change.
Although both Somatic Psychology and the Expressive Arts work with the imagination, and have developed sophisticated tools for undertaking the important work of personal and cultural transformation, few opportunities for dialogue between these two communities currently exist.
This symposium is intended to be such an opportunity, and to foster an ongoing exchange of ideas, practices, and inspirations. Presenters include: Natalie Rogers, Eleanor Criswell, Larry Robinson, John Conger, Aftab Omer, Rae Johnson, Meagan Pugh, Arianna Strozzi, Lisa Herman, and Laury Rappaport.
Students, professionals, and individuals interested in exploring "The Poetic Body" are encouraged to attend.
Cost: $85 (MFT/LCSW/RN CEU's available)

The Rhythm of Money: A 5Rhythms Movement Workshop
Where: Fairfield United Church Hall, Victoria, BC, CANADA
When: June 11-12th
Our relationship to money shapes our beliefs, influences our energy and creates behaviors which affect who we are and what we manifest in the world. This relationship can expand or contract us, assist or limit us, free or bind us. By paying attention to how we respond to the information in our body, we can gain tremendous insight into what we need to let out, let in, and let go of. In this weekend workshop we will create the possibility of increased awareness, ease, choice, freedom and fun. So that rather than restrict us, we can have a relationship with money that is spacious, fluid and inspired.
Using the 5Rhythms movement practice as our map, we will explore the rhythms of our relationship to money and how it influences and informs our body, our energy and our potential. This workshop is open to anyone and any body (any size, shape, fitness level, age). No previous movement, 5Rhythms or other, experience is needed. All that is required is a sense of curiosity, openness, and willingness to move.
Secure registration and payment on-line at www.boldgirldance.com.
Anne Marie Hogya (BSc Occupational Therapy and MA Leadership) moves between creating and delivering workshops for the general public as an accredited 5Rhythms teacher, and providing rehabilitation consultant services in large organizations.

Moti has launched his project on www.kickstarter.com, a new online platform for grassroots fundraising, where you can watch a video he made, read more about the project, and pledge your support. Backers (at any level) get rewards; for $50 you get a copy of the completed deck! Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing system: Moti only gets the money that has been pledged if he reaches his entire funding goal by June 5th. Great music, great classes in contact improv and partner dance beforehand and a really open, warm, playful conscious community. I am SO glad that this exists in SF! How wonderful to have fun and dance in a space that lacks the icky sleaziness of most clubs. Everyone is pretty friendly and the people I met tonight all seemed awesome."
